Design Engineer

Due to our continued success and a great period of growth the company are now looking to add a SolidWorks Design Engineer to the company. The role itself will be working within the existing design team to support the engineers on the design and development of our products. Beyond that the design engineer will be required to work with engineers on projects, quality, test and assembly to make sure the equipment is designed and built to the highest of standards. This is an extremely varied role.
We focus on creating innovative design solutions, ultrasonic slicing equipment and robotic handling systems for the food industry. Designing and manufacturing special purpose machinery including automation for production lines. You will find this is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to be fully involved from concept through to installation. You will be involved in the build of our own equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing machinery concepts, identifying, researching and resolving complex problems.
Supporting the build and testing of prototypes.
Completing engineering design and producing manufacture ready drawings & costings.
Provide on-going technical advice during manufacture, assembly and commissioning phases.
Sound understanding of CAD software (Solid Works) and modelling standards.
An understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the food industry.
Work from other data (design concept, hand sketches, 3D data, written information etc.).
Be innovative and add value to the organisation through problem solving and creativity.

What you will need to succeed:
A minimum of a recognised Apprenticeship and Training Qualification or Post Graduate
Customer focus, with a professional and confident communication style.

Experienced Mechanical Design – CAD Engineer with proven Solid works experience.
You will be an innovative and forward thinking individual.
Have a well-balanced, practical outlook which provides positive contributions.
Ability to deal with customers & suppliers.
Possess a full driving licence
